The tehbazari wing of the municipal corporation swung into action and removed around 150 illegal hoardings installed on different roads in the Dugri area of the city on Sunday.

A team led by superintendent of the tehbazari wing Naveen Malhotra reached Dugri in the afternoon and removed the hoardings that were installed illegally.

“The hoardings have been installed illegally in different parts of the area and were removed in the drive,” Malhotra said.

He said such drives would continue in the future as well so that the city could be made free of illegal advertisement boards and hoardings.

The MC also took action against different illegal vegetable and fruit markets in the Dugri and Jawaddi area of the city. Rehris which were stationed on roads and blocking the flow of traffic were also removed.

The MC also took action against illegal car bazaar at Rarewal market where a large number of vehicles are stationed every Sunday. The MC issues challans to those handling the car bazaar every week, but they again turn up.
