The municipal corporation will have to take crucial steps to boost up the stalled development projects that are in pipeline from a long time else the Congress will take extreme steps.
This was stated by member of Parliament (MP) Ravneet Singh Bittu on Monday.
“We stand by our ultimatum of 15 days to the corporation to sort out and speed up the developmental issues otherwise the party councillors, block presidents, ward presidents, members of legislative assembly (MLA) and other Congressmen will lock the civic body’s premises,” said Bittu.
He added the decision regarding the property transfer issue was long-pending.
Likewise, the NOC for the regularisation of plots and colonies was another issue that needs to be sorted out urgently as the work on registration of properties have stopped completely and the electricity department was harassing the affected families by not providing them connections.
He claimed that the MC was least bothered about the problems of common man.
He also expressed resentment over the pathetic conditions of roads.
“There is no provision of street lighting in all parts of the city and contamination of drinking water is rampant,” he alleged.
It was pertinent to mention here that after the meeting held on May 30, the Congressmen had apprised Ravneet Singh Bittu about the problems being faced by people and asked him to lead the agitation to achieve desired results.
Later, after the meeting MC was given ultimatum to show the result in next 15 days.
