MCJ to revise pending projects in F&CC meeting

Sources said 283 to 361 resolutions would be discussed in the meeting, adding that there was no new project mentioned in the agenda due to fund crunch.
The only new major project that will be taken up in the F&CC meeting, which is being held after five months due to the Lok Sabha elections, is to construct bridge and flyovers under the Jawaharlal Nehru National Urban Renewal Mission (JNNURM).
About Rs 580 crore will be spent on major flyovers, elevated road starting from Bhagwan Mahavir Marg to HMV College, railway overbridge (ROB), Ladowali road, ROB Guru Nanakpura, Chuggiti, ROB Ladhewali, Railway underbridge (RUB) Dhanowali, RUB/ROB Dakoha, ROB Garha road, foot overbridge (FOB) near Khalsa College, Apeejay College, Dhobi Ghat, Bhagwan Mahavir Marg and New Saji Mandi. A subway will be constructed near Chik-Chik Chowk and Bhagwan Mahavir Marg.
A multi-level underground basement parking will be constructed in front of Hotel Radisson near BMC Chowk and a multi-level parking-cum-shopping complex will be built at Model town.
Other resolutions are to revise the work done, purchasing of air-conditioners and almirahs etc. Other works mentioned in the agenda are mostly ongoing projects such as carpeting of roads and installation of tubewells in the city.
