After the brazen attack on a associate professor and director of Institute of Hotel and Tourism Management of Maharishi Dayanand University, the varsity authorities here have decided to implement a slew of steps to beef up security on the campus.

It has been decided that the competent security agency would be entrusted the responsibility of entire campus.

The already available but defunct walky-talky system would be made functional. There is proposal to increase the height of boundary walls of girls' hostel complex and gate number 8. The identity cards would be issued to all the varsity employees within a week.

The gate near railway over bridge towards Jhajjar bypass would be closed. All the three entry points leading to Dev Colony from the varsity side would be closed in three days.

Registrar SP Vats said that the said works would be completed at the earliest.
