The management of MGM Public School, urban estate, Sector 32, Chandigarh road on Monday declared that they are closing down the school after completing this academic session 2012-2013.

The school that was started last year was upto Class 3. As many as106 students are enrolled in the school with staff of seven teachers.

However, showing resentment to the school management's decision, 40 parents agitated infront of the school as admissions to kindergarten in other private schools are already over.

The parents are demanding that the school should continue till next session 2013-2014 and the school management should take responsibility of their children for admissions in other schools.

Talking to Hindustan Times, Ajay Narula, a father of one of the child said, "This is not at all fair as admissions to junior classes are already over in all private schools so where will our children get admission now. The school management must have informed us earlier so that we can admit our children in any other school. We want that the school management should continue this session and next year we will get our children admitted in some other school."

Another parent, Rupinder Kaur, said, "I am shocked to her the news as the pamphlet send to the parents says that school management has decided that we are closing the school and parents can admit their children in any other school. So now I am in a fix that where my child will study as from Class 1 to 3, seats are rear available in private schools of city and now either I have to compromise that our child will repeat the same class in which he/she is or the child has to drop one year to get admission in a good school in the next class."

The school trustee, HR Malik confirmed that we are closing the school and the school property is sold to some other school. However, we have informed the parents to get admit their wards in some other school as we will not continue the school till next session."
