Dr Harpreet Mann, district vaccination officer, supervised the campaign in Basti Gujaan, Basti Danishmandi, Indra Colony, Nurpur and Industrial Area.

The civil surgeon said 1,181 teams had been constituted to administer the drops, besides 131 mobile and transit teams. He said the teams would visit all brick-kilns, labour colonies, factories, huts, slum areas and all those places where migratory labourers live in the next two days.

Dr Mann said they had set a target of 1,36,254, including 41,661 children living in urban areas. As many as 11,738 children living in villages were administered polio drops.

He appealed to the parents to get their children up to the age of five years vaccinated in the next two days.
