Mini bus collides with jeep; 13 injured
Thirteen people, including nine women, were seriously injured when a mini bus overturned after colliding with a jeep on the Moga-Barnala National Highway near Bughipura village in Moga district on Friday.

The mini bus of Prabh Bus Service was on its way from Daudhar to Moga when the driver lost control of leading to the accident.
Gurdeep Singh, assistant sub-inspector (ASI) of Mehna police station, said an injured passenger on the mini bus, Sukhdev Kaur from Ramoowala village, told the police that when the vehicle was reached near the drain bridge of Bughipura, driver Jagroop Singh tried to overtake a jeep. "In this attempt, the speeding bus collided with the jeep and turned over," said Gurdeep.
The injured were rushed to Dr Mathura Dass Civila Hospital here by some passersby. They were identified as Ravinder Kaur, 48, Harjot Kaur, 30, both from Dala village; Nikki, 50, of Landheke; Sukhdev Kaur, 60, of Takhanwadh; Sheela Kumari, 53, of Moga; Anmol, 6, of Data; Sukhdev Kaur, 54, of Ramoowala; Amrik Nath, 70; Gurmeet Kaur, 62, of Ghal Kalan; Baljeet Singh, 25, of Data; Manjit Kaur, 39, of Butter; Balvir Sing, 23, of Data and Baldev Singh, 43, of Moga.
"The police have registered a case against Jagroop Singh who fled after the mishap," Gurdeep said. "Three seriously injured persons were referred to Dayanand Medical Collage and Hospital in Ludhiana."
