Minor dalit girl raped

Police have booked a youth for allegedly raping a minor girl, belonging to dalit community, in Gandhi Camp area here. In a complaint lodged with the Civil Lines police station here, the victim stated that she is living with his uncle Ravinder Kumar in Gandhi Camp as her parents had died 12 years ago and studying in Class-8 at the Government Girls School here.

She alleged that her neighbour Rajni, wife of Neela, took her into the house of one Vimal Kumar alias Raju six months ago, who raped her and threatened of dire consequences if she told anyone about it.

She further alleged that after threatening her, Rajni again compelled her to visit Vimal Kumar's house, who again attempted to rape her, but she managed to escape from his clutches.

Later, she narrated the incident to her uncle, who brought her to the police to lodge a complaint.

Police has registered a case under section 376, 506 and 120 B of IPC and the Protection of Children from Sexual offencee Act against Vimal Kumar and Rajni who are both absconding. Meanwhile, the police has got conducted the medical examination of the victim.
