The police have registered a case against the accused, who is at large.

Father of the girl, who is a daily wager, alleged that on December 17 evening when his daughter was standing outside their house, one Gursewak Singh abducted her and raped her. The accused threatened them to face dire consequences if they reported the matter to the police, he said.

SSP Varinder Pal Singh said the matter was reported to them on Monday; on the basis of the statement of the victim, they had been registered a case and a police hunt was on to nab the accused.
