“We will never come back to this city again”, victim’s mother told Hindustan Times.
The labourer’s daughter was kidnapped on February 1 and her body was found after two days in Patara at Jalandhar-Hoshiarpur highway.
A day after the recovery of body it was discovered that the victim was raped before murder.

On February 2, the cops had registered the case under Section 365 (kidnapping) of the Indian Penal Code.

“The stigma that we are facing, nobody else can imagine that,” said the father in a broken voice.
“I had come here with my family three years back for job.” the father said adding that the victim had started studying in a local government school after he got a job.
“We were happy back then. After the incident, we are scared now”, said the father.
He said that if the cops are able to nab the accused, he will come to see the accused to know why he killed his daughter.
The mother told that they have some relatives here with whom they will be in touch to know about the case.
Their neighbours told Hindustan Times that after burying the body of the victim, the family packed their luggage and moved.
The neighbours also revealed that they had asked the victim’s father to stay till the accused is arrested as the victim’s younger brother was with her at the time of kidnapping and can help in identifying the accused but no avail.

In the same locality, another migrant family of a private security guard has been searching for his two children, a daughter, and a son, from a long time now.
Both went missing under mysterious circumstances on the eve of Raksha Bandhan on August 23, 2013, and a kidnapping case was registered.
