Miscreants shoot store owner, loot Rs 50,000

Two unidentified miscreants shot at a grocery store owner and looted Rs 50,000 at Dhandhari Kalan late on Monday.

The victim, who was shot in the back, informed his friend over mobile phone about the incident and drove his scooter till SPS Apollo hospital and collapsed there. Hospital staff had initiated treatment and informed the Focal Point police, which have initiated an investigation in the case.

The victim, Sanjay Goyal, a Sherpur Kalan resident, runs a grocery store at Dhandhari Kalan. Goyal was going back to his house when miscreants shot at him and he fell down on the road. The miscreants have fled away with his bag containing rs 50,000.

Goyal had called his friend Dharminder Sharma on his mobile phone and informed him about the incident.

According to doctors at the Apollo Hospital, condition of Sanjay is serious. The bullet has injured his kidney.

SHO at the Focal Point police station Inspector Jatinderjit Singh said the police had initiated investigation. The police had been awaiting statement of the victim to know about the sequence of the incident.

Incident not a first

It is a second such incident in past four days in the area, where the miscreants had shot at people to loot them. The police had been suspecting same gang behind the loots.

On March 26, three miscreants had shot at a man and snatched his mobile phone, music system and Rs 3,500 in cash from his possession at Dhandhari Kalan. The Focal Point police had registered a case under Section 394 and 34 of the IPC against three unidentified accused in this context, following the complaint of Sonu, who is younger brother of the victim.
