Miscreants strike at Akali leader's house, injures son

Around 20 persons struck at the house of former councillor and Akali leader at Janta Nagar area on Sunday and thrashed his family members.

Former councillor, Balvir Singh Mankoo in his complaint to the police said that the accused had some personal rivalry with his son, Harwinder Singh.

He said the accused thrashed his son, who suffered serious injuries, and also damaged the belongings in the house and later fled after threatening them of dire consequences in case they lodged a complaint with the police.Three of the accused have been identified as Himanshu, Gagan and Bitta Walia.

A case has been registered against all accused at Shimlapuri police station under Section 452 (trespassing), 323 (voluntarily causing hurt), 427 (mischief), 506 (criminal intimidation), 146 (rioting) and 149 (committing crime in unlawful assembly) of the Indian Penal Code.Further investigations to trace the accused are on.
