A doctor missing for two days from Abohar in Fazilka district, around 110km from here, was found allegedly murdered after her body, carrying injuries on the head, was recovered from a canal in neighbouring Rajasthan.

The victim, Dr Sushma Nanda, was missing since she had gone to nearby village Khuian Sarwar with a man named Jhand Singh and his son Daljeet Singh on February 2 for registration of a property sale deed, said her son Abhinav Nanda to the police. Jhand and Daljeet, from Dalbir Khera village in Abohar subdivision, were booked but not arrested yet.

The doctor’s body was recovered after search from an irrigation canal at Lalagarh Jattan in the neighbouring district of Ganganagar in Rajasthan. It was brought to Abohar for post-mortem examination.
