The rally was threatened by rain, which had continued till Saturday afternoon. While the sky remained cloudy, rain stayed at bay, leaving locals hopeful that there would be “complete calm” on the weather front on Sunday, and the rally would be a “grand success”.
BJP LEADERS ARRIVE
A visit to the chaugan (ground) showed that the construction of the pandal for people and stage for the VVIPs had been completed, and party workers were busy putting up BJP flags, banners and buntings to present a “colourful” picture. Senior BJP leaders, including Prem Kumar Dhumal, Satpal Singh Satti, Ravinder Ravi and MP Anurag Thakur, visited the chaugan where the rally would be held, and supervised the arrangements. They expressed optimism that with the weather clearing up, the rally would be a “grand success”.
