Predicting the political position of the Congress-led UPA government, Punjab deputy chief minister Sukhbir Singh Badal on Monday claimed that the Congress had no political future in the country and time has come when it will die its own political death.
"The Congress did nothing for masses and constantly ignored nation as well as interests of general public that's why it has been routed out from various states, including the national capital, the so-called 'political castle' of this anti-people party. Now, it would have to face the wrath of countrymen in ensuing general elections," said the deputy CM.
Sukhbir was here to organise a sangat darshan programme in Mansa district along with Bathinda MP and wife Harsimrat Kaur Badal. He inaugurated a sewerage treatment plant worth Rs 12 crore and laid the foundation stone for upgrading Mansa bus stand at a cost of Rs 50 lakh.
"The magic of BJP's prime ministerial candidate Narendra Modi will completely rout out the Congress from national politics," he said.
During the sangat darshan, Sukhbir announced that by mid-January all 21 municipal wards of Mansa town would get cent per cent sewerage. Sukhbir asked the chief executive officer of sewerage and water supply department to ensure sewerage connections to every household before the end of next month and directed the MD, sewerage and water supply, to depute a dedicated officer at Mansa to eradicate all sewerage-related complaints within two days.
Appealing to residents to become active partners for ensuring holistic development to make Mansa a model district in the state, Harsimrat said, "I'll review all the development works every six months and Mansa residents should keep a check on the ongoing projects besides bringing to my notice or to the deputy commissioner's if they find any negligence on the part of the administration."
Harsimrat also directed the deputy commissioner to sort out grievances of locals on 1st of every month in his office by holding sangat darshan from 10am to 12noon.
