An action committee comprising various organisations staged a protest against deputy chief minister Sukhbir Badal in front of former cabinet minister Hira Singh Gabria's residence here on Tuesday.

On the call of Orbit Bus Kand Virodhi Action Committee to mark protest against Moga molestation case, the members burnt Sukhbir Badal's effigy demanding FIR against the owners of Orbit Bus Company.

Earlier in day, the members started their protest from Partap Chowk and carried out a march towards Gabria's residence.

They expressed their anger against Orbit Bus Company on account of the recent Moga incident in which daughter and mother were allegedly thrown out of the bus.

The members of Action Committee also demanded resignation of Sukhbir Singh Badal and Union minister Harsimrat Kaur Badal. They demanded a high-level probe into the properties and assets of Badal family by the Supreme Court judge.

Meanwhile, Karkhana Mazdoor Union Punjab president Lakhwinder also demanded the release of students who were caught by the police. "These students were protesting against Moga bus molestation case in Faridkot," he said.

They alleged that Orbit Bus Company had recruited hooligans as staff for their private buses.

While expressing their resentment, they further added that harassment of women and children by the staff members of various private bus services will not be tolerated at any cost. They demanded that the security of women and children should be assured.

Protesters alleged that Badal government suppressed the family of Moga molestation case victim, but the revolutionary protesters would not be suppressed.
