The district police have claimed to have arrested one Devinder Singh, 25, a resident of Bambiha Bhai village of Moga district, who is an accused in 10 cases including 4 of murder, 3 attempted murder and 3 others.

On his interrogation, the police sized 2 more pistols of .32 bore, 40 cartridges of 12 bore, 30 cartridges of .315 bore from the residence of Gurbaksh Singh, a resident of Sewewala village.

"Devinder Singh was wanted by the Faridkot police in the murder case of Manider Singh, 25, and his uncle Sukhpal Singh in the Sewewala village in March.

He is a supari killer and was paid `50,000 in advance for the murder and supposed to be paid more.

Inspector Lakhvir Singh, in-charge of CIA, said the two persons were allegedly killed out of an old rivalry among two groups of the village.

"The accused was arrested from Ludhiana near the bus stand.

He had fired on the police party.

He was injured in the arm in the retaliatory fire.

He is at present admitted to Guru Gobind Singh medical college and hospital here.
