Moga: Woman files rape complaint against husband, his friend

The district police, on Wednesday, booked two people, including husband of the complainant, for allegedly raping her at Ranian village under Nihal Singh Wala subdivision in the district. The accused are still at large.

Assistant sub-inspector (ASI) Karamjit Kaur said that the victim, who was married to one Niranjan Singh of Ranian village about eight years ago, has alleged, "My husband and his friend Gurdev Singh of the same village came home at night on June 2 in a drunken state. When I objected to their coming so late in a state of drunkenness. Following this both of them attacked me and locked me in a room and both raped me forcibly and fled. The next morning, I went to my parents and told them about the incident."

The police brought the victim to the Dr Mathura Dass Pahwa civil hospital here for medical examination.

"We have registered a case against Niranjan Singh and Gurdev Singh under sections 376, 342 , 323 and 34 of Indian Penal Code at Badhni Kalan police station on the statement of the victim. A special team has been formed to nab the accused and I hope both will be in police net soon," said ASI.
