Mohali businessman goes missing; blood stains found in car

A 36-year-old owner of an immigration consultancy company went missing under mysterious circumstances on the night intervening Wednesday and Thursday from near his house here.

The victim has been identified as Karan Arora (36), a resident of Chhapar Chiri Khurd village in SAS Nagar.

The victim’s car with blood stains and broken driver- side windowpane was found abandoned 500 metres away from his house on Thursday morning.

Arora, who had close links with high-profile people, including a number of IAS and IPS officers of Punjab and Chandigarh, left his house on Wednesday to attend a party but did not return. Arora’s car was spotted by his domestic help near the house on Thursday morning and informed former’s wife. Arora’s wife in turn called her brother Amit, a resident of Panchkula. Amit then lodged a complaint with the police fearing for his brother-in-law’s Arora’s life seeing blood stains and broken windowpane of the car.

“The family has alleged that Karan had been kidnapped and they feared that he may be killed. Based on the complaint, we have registered a case under Section 364 (kidnapping) of the Indian Penal Code. Investigations are on,” said SP (detective) Gursharandeep Singh.
