More rain on cards in state in next 48 hours

With moderate to heavy rain on cards in different parts of the state, the meteorological department on Tuesday has issued warning of heavy rains in the next 48 hours.

Shimla meteorological centre director Manmohan Singh said that several parts of the state received moderate to heavy rains in the past days and more rainfall was expected in the next 48 hours.

"We have issued a warning of heavy rain at several places in the state in the next 48 hours, while the state may receive rainfall till July 28 continuously," said he.

The state capital witnessed erratic rain throughout the day on Tuesday. As per the weather report Shimla received 32 ml of rainfall, while Baldwara in Kangra received 31 ml, Kangra 22 ml, Karsog 16 ml, Dharmshala 9 ml, in the last 24 hours.

The maximum temperature was recorded in Una with 35° Celsius while the minimum was recorded in Kalpa at 12° Celsius. Shimla recorded minimum of 17° Celsius, while Manali recorded 13° Celsius minimum temperature. Dharmshala recorded minimum at 18.4° Celsius.
