More than 1 lakh banned tablets seized on raids at chemist shops

The police and the health department conducted raids at various places to curb the use of banned drugs in the city, on Thursday. The exercise is aimed to curb the sale of banned and unauthorised drugs at chemist stores.

The police and the health department conducted raids at various places to curb the use of banned drugs in the city, on Thursday. The exercise is aimed to curb the sale of banned and unauthorised drugs at chemist stores.


Bathinda SSP Ravcharan Singh Brar teamed up with drug inspector, deputed at the stores.

Drug inspectors Pardeep Singh, Gundeep Bansal, Tarjinder Singh from Bathinda, Mansa and Faridkot, respectively formed the teams and recovered 6,500 banned tablets from Ashoka Medical store and 45,000 such tablets from Suresh Medical Store.

"The police and the health department will take strict action against law breakers," said the SSP in a press release.
