Joined with DIG Shive Kumar and SSP Hardial Singh Mann, the IG said the accused were having luxurious life style and having an Audi car.

Apart from loot and robbery, the accused had also sold drugs to draw easy money, he said.

Ishwar said a police party at Upli village intercepted an Audi car coming from Sirhind. "The car suddenly stopped and three persons sitting inside it tried to run away but we chased them,"he said.

Those arrested have been identified as Rajinder Singhalias Mintu, Amanpreet Singh and Amandeep Garg. Police have seized a 30 bore pistol and five cartridges from Mintu, 9mm pistol and five cartridges from Amanpreet and a 32 bore pistol and six cartridges from Amandeep.

The accused were involved in robbery and smuggling of intoxicants and had also killed an ASI.
A case under the Arms Act has been registered against all the accused and further investigation is on, the IG said.

Patiala Police, last week, had also arrested Palwinder Singh Pinda, who was also on the run after killing the ASI.
