Madhya Pradesh assembly speaker Sitasharan Sharma on Monday visited the Himachal Pradesh Vidhan Sabha to know about the e-vidhan system that was implemented last year.
Accompanied by senior Madhya Pradesh assembly officials, Sharma met HP Vidhan Sabha speaker BBL Butail. Officials of state assembly's IT department apprised the MP speaker and the accompanying officials of the e-vidhan system and its benefits. The delegation led by the MP spekaer also sought the Himachal assembly's help in exploring the possibility of implementation of the project in their state.
Butail said the HP assembly is completely online and is saving `10-15 crore besides saving 6,000-8,000 trees annually. "It has increased the work efficiency and is also saving the public money," he said.
"We have heard about this system and are keen to know about it. After getting complete information about the e-vidhan system implemented by the Himachal Pradesh Vidhan Sabha, we will look into the possibility of introducing it in MP," Sitasharan Sharma said.
Under the `8.2 crore e-vidhan project, the secretariat interface has a question processing system to take questions from members, issue notices to departments and receive replies from them besides fixing dates of sittings and creating a list of everyday proceedings.
