The film 'MSG: The Messenger of God' of Dera Sacha Sauda chief Gurmeet Ram Rahim Singh has been banned in Punjab by the state government, but the police still are in an alert mode keeping in view the possible reaction of dera followers against the decision.

Senior superintendent of police (SSP) Inder Mohan Singh Bhatti said that though, according to information, the screening of the film has been banned by the state government in Punjab, yet we are not taking any chance and the security is as tight as it had been for the past few days.

Meanwhile, dera followers have been left disappointed with the decision of the state government to ban the screening of the movie. Member of the dera's seven-member committee Narinder Goyal said, "Certainly, it is great disappointment for us, but we are hopeful that the government will review its decision because the film has been cleared by the film certification appellate tribunal and should be allowed to be screened in Punjab also."
