The police are still trying to establish the identity of the man who was found dead near UCO bank branch in Jugiana village on Friday. The deceased, who appears to be around 35 years old, was first noticed by a passer-by, who informed the police, after which the body was sent to the civil hospital.

The post-mortem examination revealed that the deceased was strangulated. The police suspect that the victim was murdered at a distant place and dumped in Jugiana village.

Inspector Gurtej Singh of Focal Point police station, said an FIR under sections 302 (murder) and 201 (causing disappearance of evidence of offence) of the Indian Penal Code (IPC) had been registered.The police have started investigation into the matter.
