Haryana has been put on ‘high alert’ after 10 armed men attacked the high-security Nabha jail in Punjab early on Sunday and freed a dreaded Sikh militant and five others.

Inspector general of police, CID, Anil Kumar Rao told HT that high alert has been sounded. “Our teams in Kaithal, Pehowa, Jind and other areas adjoining Punjab are on maximum alert. They are checking all suspicious vehicles. The situation is being constantly monitored,” he said.
