Nannu demands resignation of Kamal Sharma

punjab Updated: May 18, 2014 00:25 IST

Two-time former MLA from Ferozepur and former CPS (revenue) Sukhpal Singh Nannu held the state party chief Kamal Sharma (who too hails from Ferozepur) responsible for the defeat of senior party leader Arun Jaitley and demanded his resignation.

Nannu, while loading a few pictures on party posters of Kamal Sharma, in which he seemed to be dozing, on a famous social networking site remarked, “Narender Modiji ki lehar ke hote hue bhi BJP Punjab fateh nahin kar saki. Arun Jaitelyji ki haar ka sabhi BJP workers ko bahut dukh bhi hai aur hamesha sharminda rahenge.” (BJP failed to ensure the victory of Arun Jaitley despite a Modi wave in the country. The party workers are very upset and will always feel ashamed of themselves.”

Repeated efforts to contact Kamal Sharma proved futile but his OSD Amarinder Singh Chinna alias Pothi, termed it a futile effort on the part of Nannu to divert the attention of the leadership over the trailing of SAD-BJP nominee Sher Singh Ghubaya by 14,575 votes from Ferozepur (urban), where he is the halqa in-charge.
