Wishing Navjot Singh Sidhu, who resigned as Rajya Sabha member, a good luck and successful innings ahead, Congress leader Manpreet Singh Badal said that Sidhu is welcome to join the party but if he joins any other party, Congress is not afraid of him.

Manpreet and Congress leaders, Vijay Inder Singla and Amrinder Singh Raja Warring, were here to preside over a function, ‘Show of Strength,’organised by former minister Darshan Singh Brar in Baghapurana constituency, on Thursday.

Don’t miss: Congress trying to poach, but Sidhu out of bounds

Punjab Pradesh Congress Committee (PPCC) chief Captain Amarinder Singh had welcomed Navjot Singh Sidhu to join the Congress party, on Tuesday.

When asked why Congress wants Sidhu in the party, Manpreet said, “Siyaasi partiaa de roshan daan kadi band ni hunde te change bandea di har party nu lorh hundi par Congress es gal to ghabrayi nai hai, Sidhu saab jo vi faisla karn (The doors of political parties are never closed for anyone and every party wants good politicians but it doesn’t mean that we are afraid, Sidhu will take the final decision.”

“15 saal ho gaye ohna (Sidhu) nu politics ch aye… Congress de khilaaf hi rahe ne.. Jehri top pehla chala layi aa oh hun vi chal jaugi… (It’s been fifteen years since Sidhu came into politics, the cannon balls that he fired earlier will be fired again. We are not perturbed),” said Manpreet, while talking on the sidelines of the function.

Vijay Inder Singla said that the truth of Shiromani Akali Dal (SAD) has been revealed after the suspension of two MLAs, Pargat Singh and Inderbir Singh Bolaria. This exposed how the Badals oppress the voices of their own leaders if they try to raise their concerns.

“After Badals, these ‘Chiti Topi Wale’ (Aam Aadmi Party), who know nothing about the history and culture of Punjab have come to misguide the Punjabis,” said Singla.

Manpreet Badal said that after coming to power, the main aim of congress will be to eradicate corruption, poverty, illiteracy, unemployment, and drug addiction from the state.

“When these five issues will be solved, our state will develop,” he said.

All praise for Darshan Brar

As Congress doesn’t have any other face from Baghapurana, all the party leaders praised Darshan Brar and tried to persuade the huge gathering present, to vote for him.

“If you make him an MLA, he can be the minister in state cabinet after Congress comes to power,” said Raja Warring.

While asking to vote for the right candidate, Manpreet said that during Lok Sabha elections, when he was a candidate from Bathinda; Badal family spent `90 crores to defeat him and now the people of Punjab are facing its consequences.
