The district has linked 66.91% of electoral photo identity card (EPIC) data with Aadhaar cards of voters under the National Electoral Roll Purification and Authentication Programme (NERPAP), officials said.

To speed up the campaign, all employees and supervisors have been given a target of 90% completion of the work by May 21.

Reviewing the progress of linking of EPIC data with Aadhaar card of voters in the district, Nawanshahr deputy commissioner Amar Partap Singh Virk asked sub-divisional magistrates, supervisors and others to meet the next target so that district may lead in the campaign as well.

The deputy commissioner added that to meet the target by the due date, door-to-door canvassing has also been started since April 12. He further said the residents may also submit their Aadhaar cards by other means that include toll-free numbers, SMS and also by logging on to the election commission website and subsequently to the national voter service portal for linking Aadhaar card.

"It can also be done by sending either an SMS at 51969 or calling at toll free number 1950," Virk added.
