The city police on Wednesday booked a man, a resident of the Mehatpur road area here, for allegedly raping his two minor daughters.

The accused has been identified as Subash and a case under Sections 376 (rape) and other sections of the Prevention of Children from Sexual Offences Act (POCSO) 2012 has been registered against him.

According to the FIR, a 16-year-old daughter of the accused alleged that she was studying in Class 6 while her younger sister, 12, was in Class 4 at a local government school here. She said that her father is a daily wager and her mother also works as a maid in houses.

She said her father had been sexually exploiting her for the past two years when her mother used to go out for work. But she remained silent. She alleged that when she recently saw her father raping her younger sister, she decided to file a complaint against him.

The victim alleged that her father used to give them life threats to keep mum. Station house officer Raj Kumar said that the accused has been arrested and would be produced in a court on Friday.
