Varkha Rani, 25, a resident of Shaheed Udham Singh Nagar, who got married to NRI Jasvir Ram Ginday six months ago, was found dead on September 16 at Victory lane, Walsall, in UK.

The local police have arrested husband Jasvir Ram and nine other relatives in this incident. Varkha was married to Jasvir, who originally hailed from Bhularai village, near Phagwara on March 28, 2013.

Jasvir was reportedly working in a private bank in UK and was living with his family for past several years. Varkha had gone to UK on August 10 to attend the wedding of Jasvir's sister.

Varkha's uncle, Charanjeet Singh said, on September13, we received a call from Varkha's in-laws saying that Varkha had gone somewhere with a bag and 500 pound. "They said they had filed a missing complaint with the local police. We also called up a few of our relatives in UK and asked them to inquire about Varkha. They searched for two days but failed to find her out,"Charanjeet said.

He added that on September 16, police found Varkha's deadbody, buried in the backyard of her in-laws' house.

"Police had arrested Jasvir and his relatives, including four men and five women. The relatives have been released on bail but Jasvir was charged with murder,"he added.

"We had given each and every thing as demanded by Jasvir's family during the wedding. We regret of marrying Varkha off to Jasvir,"he said.

"We are planning to bring her body back to Nawanshahr,"Charanjeet added. Varkha's father Surjeet Singh had four children including three daughters and a son. Varkha was the youngest daughter in the family.
