National Commission for Backward Classes (NCBC) will hold public hearings for inclusion of Jats in the central list of backward classes. Separate hearings for each state will be held for the said proposal at Siri Fort Auditorium, Siri Fort Cultural Complex, August Kranti Marg in New Delhi.
Secretary, Haryana Backward Classes Commission, RS Verma said on Sunday that NCBC was in the process of examining requests from nine states, including Haryana for inclusion of Jats in the central list of Other Backward Classes (OBCs).
In this regard, the hearing of those in favour of the proposal will be held on February 10 at 10. 30 am for Haryana and Gujarat whereas the hearing of those against the proposal will be held on February 12 at 10.30 am for both the states.
Verma said that interested associations, organisations and individuals of the Jat community were requested to appear before the commission as per the programme and furnish all available information and data for in favour and against the proposal on the said dates and time.
Any other associations, organisations or individuals who have any view to express in the matter of the said caste or community may also be present. However, no one will be heard outside the date and time scheduled for a particular state.
