Rail connection between Ludhiana and Chandigarh is set to be strengthened with a new train between Ferozepur and Chandigarh via Ludhiana set to be launched on March 11, in view of the rush expected ahead of Holi.
Ferozepur-Chandigarh-Ferozepur Superfast Express (04508/04507) would be run as Holi special train in the beginning from March 11 to April 21 (for 42 trips). It would then be made a permanent train between the route, said officials.
The train will depart from Ferozepur division at 7am on March 11 to reach Ludhiana at 9am and Chandigarh at 11.05am. On return, train will start from Chandigarh at 7.30pm, reach Ludhiana at 9 pm and Ferozepur at 11.30pm.
The train will have nearly a 20-minute halt at Ludhiana station. It comprises AC chair car, six sleeper, two second class, besides one second-class disabled-friendly coach. Besides Ludhiana, the train will halt at Moga en route in both directions.
