None months after a 15-year-old girl was raped at Udhanwal village, allegedly by her neighbour Harmesh Lal and four unknown persons, no arrest have been made.

She added that they confined her in a desolate room, where she was repeatedly raped by Harmesh and another unknown man. A woman filmed the rapes, she had alleged. After a few days, two another unknown men also raped her into room.

On June 1, they left her back at the main Balachaur Chowk, threatening her against disclosing the crime.

Surprisingly, the police have also failed to get any information about any other accused.

Speaking with HT, investigation officer ASI Mohinder Singh said, “We are doing our best to nab Harmesh Lal, but to no avail. We have started proceedings to declare Lal as a proclaimed offender. Arrest warrants have been issued.”

He added that the woman named and three other accused were yet to be identified.

"Recently, we received information that the accused was in Guwahati (Assam). We sent a police party, but he managed to give us the slip.”
