Condemning the slaughter incident Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) Punjab president urged for none of the culprit irrespective of political connections be spared for killing of holy cows.

"Those responsible for killing holy cows would not be spared irrespective of political connections," said BJP president Punjab cum MLA Ashwani Sharma.

Sharma added, "Joga agitation is once again an example Hindu Sikh bonding as both stood against the injustice and jointly led the agitation. The anger among the people was so high that a building or structure that could have taken days to demolish was demolished in few hours."

He added BJP is committed to Gau Raksha. It is because of BJP's efforts in the last government that Gau Sewa Borad was formed. The party also got increased imprisonment in crime of cow slaughter from two years to ten years. It is on our demand that CM Punjab has declared to build up Gau Samarak and install Pratima of Gau Mata at factory place.

General secretary BJP Punjab Manjit Singh Rai, chairman Gau Sewa Board Kimti Lal Bhagat, chairman Punjab Infotech, Harjit Singh Grewal, former Chairman Improvement Trust Bathinda Ashok Bharti, state incharge BJP Training Cell Mohan Lal Garg, organisational incharge Mansa Neeraj Tayal, district president Mansa Sukhdev Singh Farwai, district president Bathinda Rural Dayal Das Sodhi and district president Mukatsar Rakesh Dhingra were also present at the occassion.
