The Jalandhar (rural) police have failed to crack the murder case of a woman from Litrran village, nearly three years after the crime.

A three-member special investigation team (SIT) had been constituted by Jalandhar (rural) SSP YS Hayer to solve the case and SP (D) was made the head. The Phillaur DSP and Nurmahal SHO were made others members.

Baljit Kaur's body was recovered on November 11, 2010, from a field at Littran village and a case of murder was registered. The police had detained her brother-in-law Jasbir Singh and sister-in-law on the basis of suspicion.

Gurjit Singh of Sanghe Jagir village and Gurjit Singh of Sarih village were also detained for interrogation. SHO Nurmahal Kewal Singh, who is also a member of the SIT, said that investigations were on.
