Even as health Minister Kaul Singh Thakur left government red faced blaming an official for leak of audio compact disc, Chief Minister Virbhadra Singh out rightly denied that there was any political “conspiracy” behind leak.
“Absolutely not who is interested in it” replied Chief Minister Virbhadra Singh when asked about Kaul Singh Thakur allegation about political conspiracy. Rather Virbhadra Singh sought to defend Thakur Kaul Singh. “He (Kaul Singh) is my esteemed colleague “ said he adding that “ If it comes on a minister it comes on me and the entire government , it is not my politics “ said he adding that the Kaul Singh Thakur was trying to give lame excuse for the leak of compact disc .” If he tries to give lame excuses for this (compact disc release) and that it is for him to answer” said he adding that he will inquire into the allegations leveled by Kaul Singh Thakur against the Resident Commissioner New Delhi A.P Singh.” So far his allegation that A.P. Singh has done it certainly I will inquiry into it” said he while he denied that his government would remove resident Commissioner Delhi from his post immediately.
“Somebody can turn around and ask minister to resign than what will he resign”said Virbhadra Singh when asked about Kaul Singh’s demand for removing resident Commissioner Delhi. Chief Minister Virbhadra Singh said that he presumed the conversation in the compact disc were the same which had already been sent for investigation. “Reality is that this issue had already come up the investigation was done and the government had given it to the vigilance department and the matter is now in the court” said Virbhadra Singh referring to the infamous telephone tapping case.
“This is the same old compact disc but I can’t speak on behalf of him. Did he ( Kaul Singh ) accept that it was his voice in the compact disc ”said he adding that compact disc was investigated and the government had send it to vigilance and now the matter is in the court of Law. Fact is that he should deny that it is not his voice if he is denying it is not his voice and than why should we bother” said he.
Congress when in opposition made hue and cry about corruption .It charged Prem Kumar Dhumal led government of being deep neck in corruption. Virbhadra Singh soon after taking over reins in December 2012 had ordered seizures of computers from offices of CID and Vigilance bureau. After seizure of hard disc government had ordered a probe had constituted three member team of forensic scientist to analyze data of their hard disc.
As per the Indian Telegraph Act, the telephonic conversation should have been destroyed within six months from the time of permission, but the investigation carried out by the forensic experts found them stacked in the hard disc.
