Leader of opposition in Haryana assembly Abhay Singh Chautala on Saturday said no incident of gangrape took place at Murthal in Sonepat.

Speaking to journalists, said that a “mithya prachar” (false propaganda) was being spread to divide people on the issue of alleged gangrape. The Indian National Lok Dal (INLD) leader said the state government should order a judicial inquiry into alleged Murthal gangrape case as well as the violence and arson which rocked the state during the quota agitation.

“The INLD workers have made inquiries at Murthal and around but could not find any eyewitness of the ghastly incident. No one has made a complaint in this regard to the police. Had any such incident happened, a victim or her kin can always get a zero FIR registered at any police station across the country. That has not happened so far. I firmly believe that a victim of rape will surely make a complaint to the police,’’ Abhay said.

Lambasting the Manohar Lal Khattar government, the leader of the opposition said the manner in which the BJP workers were making caste remarks, making it 35 castes versus one particular caste, the atmosphere of the state is getting spoiled again.

“The BJP should have acted against party MP from Kurukshetra, Raj Kumar Saini. Now, cabinet ministers, including Karan Dev Kamboj and Krishan Bedi, have started making irresponsible statements,” Abhay said.
