It would be displayed on the notice board of returning officers and other prominent public offices, and also uploaded on the website of the election department.

Nominations could be filed only at the place mentioned in the public notice, and that too, between 11 am and 3 pm, Walgad said and added that all contesting candidates would have to deposit the security amount of Rs 25,000. Half the amount (Rs 12,500) would have to be deposited by the scheduled castes/scheduled tribes candidates (even in general constituencies).

While there were 16,129 polling stations and some more would be set up, Walgad said that time for polling at all polling stations had been fixed between 7 am and 6 pm.

Walgad said that about 1.4 lakh new voters had applied for voter identity cards up to March 12, 2014. He said there were 3,200 hyper-sensitive and 3,100 sensitive locations where central forces would be deployed.

The state had got 60 companies of central forces which would be deployed in consultation with observers and superintendents of police concerned.
