From now on, Ludhiana residents may receive their postal deliveries even on Sundays as the postal department has decided to make deliveries seven days a week, starting October 23.
With this, Ludhiana is set to become the first district in the state to provide delivery services to its customers even on Sundays.
Officials at the head post office told Hindustan Times that the decision was taken in view of repeated requests from customers. “We are very excited to launch this service and are sure that it will be a good news for our customers too, especially those who regularly use postal services. It was their feedback that led us to come up with this idea,” said Suresh Kumar Sharma, Ludhiana district’s superintendent of post offices.
SC Pahwa, senior post master at the head post office, said, “We feel this service will fortify our relationship with the customers, as Sunday delivery will take place for the first time. No other districts in the state have yet begun with this service.”
The officials also underlined that this service will be active not only in the city or nearby towns but also in rural areas.
“It’s good news that we can now expect postal delivery even on Sundays. Sometimes, you can’t afford your important posts getting delayed due to a Sunday in between but now with this new service, there won’t be any delay,” said Amarjit Singh, a customer.
