Students are exploring their talent in fields of clay modeling, drawing, poetry, singing, dancing and sports during the first-ever summer camps being organised in government schools under the Primary Vidya Sudhar Project (PRVESH). Muktsar deputy commissioner Paramjit Singh said such camps are being organised at schools in Khunde Halal, Bhagsar, Madrassa, Sarawan, Lakkar Wala and other villages by the education department.
District education officer Davinder Rajoria said under the Creative Learning Model (CLM) of education adopted by government schools, students are learning about different arts during these camps.
He said, "Earlier, such camps were organised only in urban schools run by private players and in most of the cases the main motive was to earn money. But our main motive to organise such summer camps is to provide a platform to rural students to explore their talent and ability in different co-curricular activities. The timings of the camps is 8am to 10pm and these will continue till June 10."
