Continuing with their agitation against comedian Kapil Sharma for allegedly projecting nurses in a “vulgar” manner on his comedy show, nurses in Amritsar organised a protest on the premises of Guru Nanak Dev Hospital here. The protesters also burnt effigies of the actor.

Taking on the issue, Punjab Nursing Association general secretary Raj Bedi Anand said, “We have organised the protest after the call for the same by the All India Nursing Federation. I am sure there is some solution to the problem. We are not happy with apology letter from Sony TV. We want Kapil to apologise on the show itself.”

The nursing staff not only raised slogans against Kapil, but also depicted him as a patient lying on a stretcher and is being treated by the nurses. One of the protesting nurse said, “This is our way of telling Kapil the kind of work that is being done by nurses on regular basis.”

The nurses had begun their protest last month and had even submitted a complaint against the comedian, who hails from Amritsar, at a local police station.
