California-based renowned surgeon Dr Anmol Singh Mahal on Monday visited his alma mater Khalsa College and held talks on new project of starting a medical college.
Dr Mahal extended all possible help, including expertise in medical administration, technology and finance, for setting up of Khalsa Medical College (KMC).
Dr Mahal, actively involved in the US’s much-publicised ‘ObamaCare’ project, expressed hope that Khalsa Medical College would emerge as a major medical education and research institute.
He held talks with the Khalsa College Governing Council (KCGC) joint secretary finance Gunbir Singh.
He said India needs more doctors and healthcare experts in future.
The KCGC had laid the foundation stone of the mediacl college last week at the cost of Rs 200 crore.
Associated with the California Medical Association, Dr Mahal also suggested some changes in the KMC’s plan to officials who had designed the plan. Gunbir Singh said they were happy that Dr Mahal came all over from the US to extend help.
He also thanked Dr Mahal for the financial help for setting up of students centre at Khalsa College. Among those present were KCA principal Daljit Singh and project manager NK Sharma.
