Officers body take charge of SBoP

The 25TH general body meeting and Triennial Conference of Patiala unit of Associate Banks' Officers' Association (ABOA) was held on Sunday. More than 4,000 serving and retired officers of the bank attended the conference. The top brass of the bank and dignitaries from social and public life attended the function.

DK Tripathi, Parmod Sharma, Ranjit Kumar Samaria, Rajeev Kumar Gupta and Ranbir Singh, who were recently elected as president, general secretary, vice-president, treasurer and organising secretary, respectively of the unit, took charge of the association. Eight zonal secretaries and 48 executive committee members, elected recently, also took the oath of office.

ABOA is the only body of more than 30,000 officers of all five associate banks of the State Bank Group. The State Bank of Patiala unit of the association has more than 5,800 officers on its roles.

President of the unit DK Tripathi welcomed all officer and guest at the opening address.
State Bank of Patiala managing director Achal Kumar Gupta, the chief guest, congratulated officers on their silver jubilee conference and appreciated their contribution to the development of the bank.

He also apprised the gathering of prevailing banking and economic scenario and of the challenges ahead.

The bank's chief general manager and guest of honour Pukhraj Kanther praised the officers and other staff of the bank for their sincerity, hard work and devotion and called upon them to rededicate themselves to ensure still better customer service and future growth. C Raj Kumar, MK Virmani, Jagdish Sharma, Workmen Director and President All India SBOP Employees Federation, also addressed the gathering.

General secretary Parmod Sharma presented the vote of thanks and noted that the elections were now over and all officers will henceforth strive together to ensure best customer service and steady growth of the bank. He also administered a pledge to the officers for their working for the betterment and upliftment of weaker, vulnerable and under privileged sections of the society.
