Five years after both faced a case and a counter-case against each other for happenings in a village under Talwandi Sabo assembly segment, the defection by former Congress MLA Jeet Mohinder Singh Sidhu to SAD brought him together with Punjab revenue minister Bikram Singh Majithia here on Tuesday.

Both Majithia and Sidhu addressed the rally and showered praises at each other. Sidhu, who had joined SAD on March 7, tried to showcase his appeal among the people of the constituency by mobilising a large number of his supporters from his assembly constituency Talwandi Sabo to the rally in support of sitting MP and SAD candidate Harsimrat Kaur Badal.

However, during his address, Majithia did not forget to mention about the case registered against him in 2009 and said that with Sidhu joining SAD, he is relaxed as he will not have to face any more case.

Majithia said that Sidhu was the jarnail of the Congress and its driving force in Bathinda, but he left the party because he realised that the vehicle of Congress cannot move any more here.

In praise of Sidhu, he went to the extent of terming the SAD leaders on stage, which included education minister Sikandar Singh Maluka; irrigation minister Janmeja Singh Sekhon; CPS Sarup Chand Singla and senior vice-president Balwant Singh Ramoowalia, as a spent force and said that Sidhu was the real hero of the moment.

On the other hand, Sidhu too showered praise on Majithia and said that the revenue minister was the fearless jarnail of youth of the state. He assured to work with full vigour in support of the SAD candidate.
