A woman lodged a rape case against her father, brother-in-law and father-in-law at Basti Jodhewal police station on Sunday. The woman has also accused her own mother, sister and mother-in-law of forcing the male members of the family to rape her.

The case has been registered following the orders of Punjab and Haryana high court. The woman moved the high court around two months ago after the police did not lodge an FIR.

The 21-year-old complainant of Basti Jodhewal said she was running from pillar to post to get the case registered. After the directions of the court, police registered a case against her father Rakesh Kumar of New Kailash Nagar, mother Kanta Rani, brother-in-law Abhimanyu of Raju Colony, sister Vandana Singh, her father-in-law Harvinder Singh, mother-in-law Venus of Bhamiyan.

The complainant, who is currently living in a rented accommodation at Nanak Nagar area, alleged that she was gangraped by her brother-in-law, his father and her own father in a room two months ago. She further added that her sister, her mother-in-law and her own mother abetted the crime.

After the incident, the victim lodged a complaint with Jodhewal police, but the police didn’t take the matter seriously, after which she approached the court. Investigating officer ASI Jaspal Singh said medical test of the complainant will be conducted on Tuesday.
