One killed, 3 hurt as tipper rams into cars

A speeding tipper lorry allegedly rammed into a car claiming the life of one Amarjit Singh while in the course of event a car following the tipper crashed into it injuring three women and hindering traffic on the Grand Trunk Road on Monday evening.

Residents of near-by village rushed Amarjeet, a resident and ex-president of Bhadson nagar panchayat, to the Fatehagarh Sahib civil hospital, where doctors declared him dead.

The three women, identified as Ravinder Kaur, Sukhdev Singh, Kiran Kaur, were injured seriously and had been referred to Rajindera Hospital, Patiala.

Amarjit was travelling from Gurudwara Fatehagrh Sahib to Bhadson around 7pm when a speeding mud laden tipper crashed into his car and a Swift car, in which the women were travelling, crashed into the tipper’s rear.
