Over 4,000 seats in various courses offered by six government colleges across the city were allotted on the second day of counselling, held on Tuesday.
Seats in courses such as bachelor of business administration and bachelor of computer application seemed to be the most popular courses on. While all 150 seats of the former were filled, only 10 of the total 350 seats remained in the latter in the four government colleges that offer the course in the city on Tuesday, when admissions to the reserved seats of these courses were held. Counselling session for the vacant seats will be conducted on Saturday.
Government College for Commerce and Business Administration, Sector 42, had the highest cut-off for BBA: the cut-off for the UT pool of the course was 77.6%, while 93.6% was the highest marks in the list.
Among the four colleges that offered BCA, Post Graduate Government College, Sector 11, had the highest cut off of 76% in UT pool.
Other popular courses are BSc (non-medical) and BA. Each government college has nearly 800 seats for BA.
Admissions to Government College for Commerce and Business Administration, Sector 42; PGGC-46; PGGC-11; GCG-42; GCG-11 and PGGC-42, are currently underway in the city.
