The poll authorities today halted polling process at Pholriwal village in Jalandhar within minutes of its start after Congress backed candidate Sukhjinder Kaur objected to wrong printing of her name in the ballot paper.
Sukhjinder wife of Congress leader Sukha Pholriwal, complained that her name was printed as Satwinder Kaur in the ballots.
There are nearly 2, 200 voters in the village. The poll officials immediately swung into action and stopped the polling.
Besides, fresh printing of the ballot papers has been started. The officials said that the new ballot papers would be supplied at the polling booth very soon while voters would be given requisite extra time to exercise their right to franchise.
