The panchayat of Khokhar Khurd village has formed secret groups to check eve teasing.

The girls of the village have to travel to a neighbouring village to attend school after passing Class 5 from the primary school in the village and they have to persistently cope with eve-teasing.

Panchayat member Kuldip Singh said, "Eve-teasing and harassment of girls is a big problem. We have formed groups comprising people of all age groups who keep an eye at the bus stop. Parents also take turns to drop their children at Government High School in Sadda Singh Wala village."

All our pleas to upgrade the school in the village have fallen on deaf ears. We are even ready to provide land for the school building so that out children don't have to travel far for studies," said panch Kuldip Singh.

District education officer (elementary) Rajinder Mittal said, "As per norms the school is upgraded on conditions if there is no school in three kilometer radius. We will look into the matter."
